INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY STARTS FROM THE FLOOR UP
Flooring in facilities with sensitive electronics needs to dissipate static electricity, prevent the creation of dust, withstand heavy loads, help support cooling initiatives, and clean up easily. Seamless ESD (Electrostatic Dissipative) and/or Conductive floor coatings are currently your best option. No other flooring options provide all these levels of electrostatic and contaminant protection for the value.

ELECTROSTATIC DISSIPATION / SURFACE GROUND PLANE
Flooring in areas with equipment sensitive to static charges should be specified based on its ability to mitigate tribo-charging from personnel and mobile equipment, by transferring the charge to ground. Specifically, the flooring needs to create a meaningful SURFACE GROUND PLANE to ensure consistently low energy generation and discharge risk. When evaluating an ESD floor for its capacity to control static, you need to verify that the floor will not generate more than 100V when someone walks on it. The total system resistance of the person walking on the ground is less than or equal to 3.5 x 107 or 35 meg-ohms maximum.

When your personnel and electrical equipment are on the same floor, as long as the ESD flooring has a resistance to ground of over 25,000 ohms, this floor can be used in most situations. Some facilities require floors to have resistance to ground ratings of over 25k ohms. Our experts will work with your team to determine the safest and most economical flooring option.

MITIGATING DUST AND PARTICULATES
Going with seamless floor coatings means that your floors will not have joints, seals, or spacing between tiles or the concrete slab. Seamless flooring is paramount because pollutants such as dust, airborne microbes, aerosol particles, and chemical vapors, can disrupt or even halt the performance of your hardware.

EASE OF CLEANING
Seams, joints, and lines in vinyl, or other types of tile systems, collect dirt and other particulates. Seamless floor surfaces make cleaning and maintenance a much simpler process than any other flooring option.

LONGEVITY AND UNRIVALED DURABILITY
With impact resistance and heavy traffic resilience, your floor will stay remarkably durable and last far longer than the life of most electronics.

ESD/CONDUCTIVE CONCRETE COATINGS FAQ'S

Why shouldn't I go with a flooring contractor based on price alone?
“You get what you pay for” very much applies to industrial coatings. How much money will you save if your floor lasts 3x's as long? What’s the cost of not having the right product installed correctly? Our 10-year warranty and the list of repeat clients speaks for itself.

Does the floor need to be properly grounded, if so how often or many ground points?

Flooring systems need to have an effective surface ground plane with continuity to ground. The overall number of grounding points is based on the surface area, breaks in continuity, and location of sensitive equipment. An electrical design engineer will then determine the exact number of ground points for the coating systems.

How are these floors cleaned to maintain ESD/Conductive properties?
Simply, mop with clean water and a light cleaner specified by the ESD coating manufacturer. We will provide a comprehensive floor maintenance program at time of commissioning.

Do the conductive properties have to go through the entire thickness of the coating system?
No. Sometimes the flooring system is over engineered. ESD/Conductivity properties can exist throughout the thickness. When we are collaborating in the design stages, we can value-engineer the floor so it can be built up using less expensive resins and top coated with the ESD/Conductive finishes. We can establish electrostatic protected areas (EPA's) so that you mitigate threats where you need them and save money where you don’t.

What’s the difference between anti-static and conductive coatings?
The difference is the speed in which the electrical charge is discharged to ground. A conductive coating dissipates the charge faster. It's measured in ohms resistance. A conductive coating ranges at 25,000 -1 million ohms and still requires the use of an embedded ground plane. An ESD coating range is 1 million -1 billion ohms.

Do you need to re-coat after a period of time? The simple answer is that coatings that endure heavy traffic wear down faster. Coatings with light traffic can last over 20 years. We design coating systems based on use and maintenance along with an industry-leading warranty to suit your facility’s needs.

What are the advantages of choosing ESD floor coatings over ESD Tiles?

Simply put, it’s a life cycle cost. Coatings are less expensive to install, easier to maintain, and don’t produce the particulates associated with joints and gaps in tile.

HOW WE WILL IMPROVE YOUR FACILITY

REDUCING DUST AND PARTICULATES
Dust, hair and other particulates have an adverse impact on hardware. Adding seamless resinous concrete coatings to your floors and walls will ensure that your equipment is performing at its maximum potential.

PROTECTION AGAINST STATIC ELECTRICITY
Your hardware may need anti-static/conductive flooring to create a surface ground plane to protect ESD sensitive electronics. Our ESD and conductive coatings ensure your hardware’s maximum performance without static interference. This will guarantee low energy generation and discharge risk. Our coatings deliver the highest levels of static control without the need for expensive ESD waxes or polishes. Saving you a fortune in the long-term!

REFLECTIVE CONCRETE POLISH FOR STORAGE AND ADMINISTRATION AREAS
Polished concrete saves you money and is a “greener option” than traditional flooring. Polished concrete increases LRV (Light Reflective Value) and reduces the
need for cyclical upkeep, eliminating the need for waxes and additional sealers.

WE CAN MAKE YOUR OLD FLOOR DISAPPEAR
Patching over existing floor coating failures is just that, a band-aid. Floor removal and demolition is a tough and dirty job. That’s exactly why you should let us do it for you. We can quickly remove old dilapidated floors or even rehabilitate ones with significant wear. Leaving us the perfect canvas to install a long-lasting, high-performance floor coating system.

COATED TRANSITIONS AND WALL SYSTEMS

Adding a seamless transition from your floors to your walls helps to eliminate the cracks and small pockets that harbor dirt, dust, and potentially harmful bacteria/mold. Equally, the radius cove significantly improves the ease of cleaning. Ask a custodial engineer, they will tell you!
